Biography

My story…

I began SAILING when I was 8 years old & have spent my whole life on Boats!  Born & raised in Toronto, Canada, I had the opportunity to experience boating on lake Ontario, The Muskoka lakes & Georgian Bay. Needless to say I love being on the water.

As a teenager I travelled to Greece.  My favourite place was the island of Mykonos! I loved being in the hot weather & from then on I always dreamed of living on a beach on an island somewhere!

Life happens.  A marriage, child , divorce & 25 year career in the Fashion industry go by!

In 1996 my Boyfriend & I travelled to Montserrat & instantly I fell in LOVE with THE CARIBBEAN & the dream re awakened of living in the islands. For the next few years we frequented Montserrat, Antigua, St Maarten, BVIS – chartering catamarans & for short periods of time we were living our dream! The more we tasted of this sweet life, the more we wanted to live that Life full time. In 2004 we made that dream into a reality & ordered a Custom built Lagoon 570 catamaran. Busy planning for a year the time flew by & the next thing we knew we were in Bordeaux France, taking ownership of our new home, a 60 ft Catamaran in August 2005!

In November 2005 we set sail to cross the Atlantic Ocean! An incredible experience that I feel so Lucky & grateful to have been able to achieve. After 11 days of straight sailing we made landfall on St Maarten!

For the next 6 years we lived aboard full time, living the life of cruisers! We circumnavigated the Caribbean, visiting every island & staying for days, weeks or months at a time on the islands we loved the most. We were totally captured by the life of Blue skys, turquoise waters, white sand beaches, dolphins, whales, sea turtles, waterfalls, rainbows & the green flash at sunset …..our dream was real & we were living it! Nature at its finest! Near the end of our life aboard we were spending most of our time between Dominica, Grenada & St Maarten. Living like locals & meeting people, making many new friends & exploring each Island was the highlight of this new life in the West Indies!

After departing from the boat in 2011 & returning to my home in Canada, I decided that I needed to be in the Caribbean any way I could so I began spending my winters in St. Maarten, as it was my 1st choice to live on for so many reasons. The most special reason is the Warm Friendly People & the extraordinary culture that only St Maarten possesses! As well as the variety of experiences the island has to explore and offer. It is also known as the Culinary capital of the Caribbean, offering World Class cuisine.

I now spend 5 months a year from December to April living in St. Maarten. I have embraced it as my 2nd home & I would love to share with you why you will fall in love with the “Friendly Island” of St. Maarten!

Cant wait to see you there in The Sun & Fun! I invite you to navigate my website.
